Clinical Benefits

Quality Design

Seating Matters are the only specialised seating company dedicating 100% of our time and resources to clinical research, innovation, and product development in clinical seating.

Our chairs represent the final step of an extensive process involving research, real-life patient feedback, development, clinical trials, ongoing enhancements, and rigorous evaluation.

Our dedicated Seating Matters R&D and Clinical teams have spent more than three decades finessing our product range. They continue to develop new lines that meet patient needs, and reduce the cost of care.

Four Steps to Quality

It takes continuous, careful planning to ensure our chairs are functional as well as being aesthetically pleasing. Our design team are adamant that the chairs need to be designed in such a way that they fit into a home environment. Each and every part of a Seating Matters chair has been engineered and devised to offer optimum quality and support for the user.

Each chair model is specifically designed for stability, ensuring that it has a low centre of gravity and a wide, stable base. This offers a high level of safety and occupant protection, reducing the risk of injury to patients and care givers alike.

Ease of Use

Seating Matters carefully considers the needs of caregivers and patients, ensuring that our chairs are simple to operate and easy to use. All Seating Matters chairs can be adjusted without tools in less than one minute, making them a good choice for multi-user environments, or for patients with progressive conditions.

Stringent Testing

The entire Seating Matters range has met and surpassed a rigorous testing process at our in-house testing facility. Here, we replicate sustained use of a chair over a 10-year life cycle. Each product undergoes a ‘drop test’, where a fully loaded chair is dropped 50mm onto a rigid test plane 10,000 times. A further 'drum test' involves two large metal rotating drums coming into contact with the castors every 3 seconds for 48 hours straight.

7 Year Warranty

Seating Matters upholds an industry-leading 7 Year Frame Warranty on most of our chair models. This Warranty offers essential peace of mind and reassurance that a patient’s chair will stand the test of time. Some terms and conditions apply.

INFECTION CONTROL

Seating Matters collaborates with hospitals and healthcare professionals to design chairs that meet the highest standards of infection control, significantly reducing potential entrapment areas, inhibiting bacteria growth, and supporting easy cleaning. This is achieved through features like medical-grade upholstery, removable arms, removable cushions, and a modular design.
