This specialised session explores the causes and best practices for pressure injury prevention.

Pressure injuries, also known as pressure ulcers, are a significant health concern, particularly for individuals with limited mobility. These injuries occur when prolonged pressure on the skin reduces blood flow, leading to tissue damage. Pressure injuries most frequently impact the elderly population and those with long-term disabilities, who tend to spend long periods of time sitting.

In this session, we will examine the underlying causes of pressure injuries and explore best practice guidelines for prevention.

We will also introduce the Four Principles of Clinical Seating and illustrate the benefits of alternative seating solutions through real-world case studies.
