The Sorrento 2 chair supports people requiring high levels of pressure care, comfort and posture support. It is suitable for use in any setting, including hospitals, care facilities or the home.
For people with high pressure care needs, the tilt in space function can be used to improve posture and redistribute pressure. The tilt movements include forward tilt to assist standing transfers for rehabilitation or self-transferring situations. The adjustable back recline helps people with limited hip flexion and, when used in combination with tilt in space, can help prevent sliding from the chair.
The Sorrento 2 is modular and can be adjusted to fit people of many shapes, sizes and care needs. The seat width, seat depth and footplate height can all be customised on site.
Being completely mobile, the Sorrento 2 can be moved throughout a home, allowing the user to maintain interaction with family and friends while relaxing in a comfortable, safe chair.
The Sorrento 2 uses high pressure care materials on all contact surfaces, along with tilt in space for repositioning.
Optional lateral supports and supportive pillows can help maintain or improve posture and facilitate functional ability in activities of daily living such as eating and communicating. The correct use of these features and clinical accessories can also help reduce common problems such as falling to the side while seated.
The Sorrento 2 and Atlanta 2 chairs are the only dementia chairs in the world to be clinically proven and awarded Dementia Product Accreditation by the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling.
