Sorrento

The Sorrento chair helps people needing high levels of pressure care, comfort and postural support. It is suitable for people in any setting, including hospitals, care facilities and the home.

For people with high pressure care needs, the tilt in space function can be used to improve posture and redistribute pressure. The tilt movements include forward tilt to assist standing transfers for rehabilitation or self transferring situations. The adjustable back recline helps people with limited hip flexion and, when used in combination with tilt in space, can help prevent sliding in the chair.

The Sorrento is modular and can be adjusted to fit people of many shapes, sizes and care needs. The seat width, seat depth and footplate height can all be customised on site.

Being completely mobile, the Sorrento can be moved throughout the home, allowing the user to maintain interaction with family and friends while relaxing in a comfortable, safe chair.

The Sorrento uses high pressure care materials on all contact surfaces, along with tilt in space for repositioning.

Optional lateral supports and supportive pillows can help maintain or improve posture and facilitate functional abilities in activities of daily living such as eating and communicating. The correct use of these features and clinical accessories can also reduce common problems such as falling to the side while seated.

Features

The Sorrento has:

Tilt in space (45 degrees – dependent on chair model) to allow for repositioning for pressure care and user comfort. Elevating leg rest and recline are also standard.

Dartex multi stretch pressure management materials throughout all patient contact surfaces. This material is breathable with moisture permeability to help ensure the surface remains dry and comfortable for the user. It can also be wiped down to support infection control and hygiene requirements.

A medium to high pressure management cushion using memory foam. This cushion is removable for cleaning or if an alternative cushion type is preferred. An advantage of memory foam cushions is they do not require maintenance or adjustment for each person, unlike gel or air cushions. The cushion is also easily replaceable.

Adjustable seat width, footplate height and seat depth allow the chair to suit the size and requirements of the user.

Removable and height adjustable armrests.

Available in manual or electric combinations.
